Hi all,

I am putting here one of my work.

The Roper-Logan-Tierney Model for Nursing is a nursing theory that is based on activities of daily living, and the purpose of the theory is to be used as an assessment throughout the process of patient care (Holland et al., 2008). The theory has been used by nursing professionals for individuals with acute and chronic illness in order to understand how an illness or injury has brought about a change in the life of an individual and the ability to perform activities of daily living (Holland et al., 2008). The theory takes into consideration the concept of living and categorises the activities of daily living through thorough assessment, leading to interventions that support complete independence in areas that might be difficult for the patient to perform alone (Holland & Jenkins, 2019).

The goal of the theory is to ensure maximum independence for the patient. Using this theory, the nurse rates the level of independence of the patient on a continuum ranging from complete dependence to complete independence. Through this the nurses able to identify the need for intervention that can enhance independence in order to minimise dependence in certain activities of daily living (Holland & Jenkins, 2019). In this case, the nurse applies Roper-Logan-Tierney Model to understand the biological, psychosocial, spiritual and cultural factors that Kristy and her family might be experiencing after her accident and injury.
