Evidence-based practice (EBP) has consistently developed over time and now it integrated the best and most appealing research evidence, practice characteristics, clinical expertise, and the patient's individual circumstances and values wherein the health professional work (Lehane et al., 2019). The paper is responding to the question: “Why is evidence generated from research important in Evidence-Based Practice?” The paper is defining EBP and the difference between EBP and research. Further, the paper presents the importance of measuring the quality of evidence from research. This is followed by presenting the benefits of using research for the delivery of safe and effective clinical outcomes as an important part of EBP with scientific literature. Research evidence is defined as any fact, data, or information generated from a research study. This evidence is generated from any form of research study using any form of research methodology and design (Saunders et al., 2019). Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) is defined as the judicious, conscientious, and explicit application of present best evidence for making effective making decisions regarding the process of caring an individual patient. This means to integrate individual clinical expertise with the support of best available and accessible external clinical evidence attained from systematic research process (Lehane et al., 2019).

The key difference between Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) and research is that EBP has no planned and systematic way of gathering data, data organization, and data analysis and on the basis of evidence, the propositions are applied, but in research, there is a systematic process and has a planning to conduct an investigation. Research has a problem for which investigation is done for finding the new truths (Saunders et al., 2019). In EBP, evidence is applied in making clinical decisions. The evidence is attained via the medium of research only. Research’s contribution provides improved understanding of the world. And the EBP’s contribution helps in bringing practice changes. When the research is implemented in an EBP, it is termed as Metascience (Weiss et al.2018). Research practice is doable on earlier researches also for exploring the plethora of fresh new data. Its validity is tested with the use of several forms of procedures, instruments, and experiments. The key function of research is in documenting, discovering, interpreting, and then proper research is conducted and methods and systems are developed. EBP is wholly grounded on the scientific evidence produced. EBP is also taking help of research in acquiring the evidence (Weiss et al., 2018).
